Good Garden was one of my first major projects at university, and it taught me the critical role of the research phase in design. The project was an app aimed at encouraging users to grow their own food and incorporate it into their cooking. Early on, I faced challenges as my initial concept resembled a game (similar to Clash of Clans), but in a gardening context, which didn’t translate well into an effective and user-friendly prototype. Despite this, the experience helped me develop a deeper understanding of research and improve my ability to interact with clients, ultimately leading to better results.

This project taught me many valuable lessons, with one of the most important being the power of simplicity. I’ve found that this philosophy applies to almost every area of design—if something can be simplified, it almost always benefits the user. The case study I created for Good Garden is something I’m especially proud of, as it showcases my process from start to finish and highlights the thought and care I put into making the app both useful and accessible for all users.
